About

My name is Lauren, and I live in a tiny apartment with a tiny kitchen. If you go back far enough, you'll see that I haven't always blogged about food - I used to blog about cancer! I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in May of 2009, and blogged extensively about my experiences.

I took a two year hiatus from blogging, in which time I graduated from college, moved into a tiny apartment with a tiny kitchen, and got an awesome job working at a local museum. I love food, and Cincinnati as a recently-booming restaurant scene. However, I don't exactly have a restaurant budget, so I started experimenting in the kitchen. My goal with this blog is to try to present simple and inexpensive recipes that are easily adjustable to varying tastes, and that are accessible to people who don't have tons of cooking experience.

I cook for myself (and sometimes my boyfriend) almost every night. I make meals I'm happy with about 30% of the time. After about a year of cooking and experimenting, I started itching to blog again. I'm working very hard to improve the quality of the photographs I include in my posts, and I'm trying my hand at recipe writing. We'll see how it goes...

When I'm not blogging, I like to go on adventures with my boyfriend, try to interest my cat in playing, and painting my nails.
